The four things that drive the price
Every concrete scanning job in the UAE is priced from the same four ingredients; providers just differ in whether they tell you.
1. The visit minimum. A team and GPR equipment have to reach your site. That’s why a tiny job and a small job often cost the same: you’re paying for the visit, then for the area.
2. Scan area. More slab, more time. A pre-coring check of a few marked positions is quick; scanning a full floor plate for a layout drawing takes hours.
3. Urgency. Same-day and out-of-hours slots exist (contractors’ daily reality), but a planned visit is cheaper than an emergency one.
4. Reporting depth. Marks on the slab (drill today) is the base level. A PDF report adds documentation; a DWG layout drawing adds engineering value. Pay for the level your project actually needs.
What that means for typical jobs
A pre-drilling check (a handful of penetration points, marks on slab) is a visit-minimum job. A slab survey for design (full area, report + drawing) is an area-priced job; think in terms of scan hours, not points. A post-tension verification before structural works sits between, depending on how much of the slab is in question.
